Freestyle graffiti (without a template) at Yppenplatz in Vienna, painted with leftover spray cans.

This mural, measuring over 20 m², was created directly beneath the Rudolfskai police station in Salzburg – in collaboration with META.

Banana Bastard aka Don Horn also likes to paint with a brush and experiment with different styles.

Don Horn doesn't paint old-school graffiti, but loves creating crazy comic characters, such as PIMP DAWG.

"True Love" – another pure freestyle drawing, painted with Molotow acrylic markers on a black table. "Turning Jealousy into Inspiration" means to me that I often receive negative energy and transform it into creative bombshells with my style, which hit the haters hard... Seriously though: any kind of attention affects my creative output.

"Trippy Cow" was created during a live freestyle session in front of an audience at Club Pratersauna in Vienna. I painted the picture with permanent markers without a reference and then reworked it for printing. It's one of my favorite pieces, so I distributed it to fans on free posters.

"Strawberry Yields" was created during a freestyle session in Salzburg. I also drew it with permanent markers and without a template, and then reworked it for printing. It's one of my favorite pieces and was among the first free poster editions I distributed to fans.

"Brownie Bytes – Brownie Nights," a freestyle drawing in Vienna with markers on cardboard, later reworked for printing. The image shows my dog peacefully sleeping and a self-portrait of myself in a highly psychedelic state.

A caricature on the topic of "paste up" – i.e., the rampant posting of posters.

Don Horn has also created many animated GIFs; here is a small example of his recent work.

This is not an AI image, but a freestyle drawing that has been transformed into a 3D sculpture using Photoshop skills.

A simple freestyle pattern, drawn with a fineliner and then rendered as 3D in Photoshop.

Screenshot of my first 3D sculpture for a 3D printer. This allows me to create sculptures from plastic and even metal in different sizes.

Despite everything, nothing beats traditional, handcrafted work. In my studio, I work not only with classic painting techniques, but also with an airbrush and sculpture. There, I use artist's clay to create an organic structure as a relief on a wooden panel. Sanding alone took over six hours, but it was very meditative. The final piece is essentially a fusion of painting and sculpture, painted silver.

Keith Haring and I – kindred spirits. Feeling the moment, drawing clear lines, that's the freestyle vibe that connects us. I never imitated him, but I was often compared to him. That's why I named the pieces most similar to his work the "Kief Hering Collection," in honor of the late master and as a tribute to his unforgettable style.

"Pride & Prejudice" – in the Kief Hering version – speaks for itself. Nevertheless: Please stop comparing me to others; painting me on my level is beyond your reach!

Created over the course of 50 hours, Don Horn's painting, "Covid Fever Dream," tells many stories and leaves room for interpretation. However, its message is unmistakable: the heavily armed eagle reaches for vaccines and US dollars in its predatory flight, leaving a huge pile of excrement on our planet. The question for all of us always remains: money or life? Regardless of what you see in the painting or how you interpret it, this is not a mandala. The invasion of the ass-lickers has already begun.

At first glance, the pattern seems strange and chaotic, but upon closer inspection, you will discover that it is actually composed of over 40 individual details. These details are distributed across four columns, each of which tells a story of greed, delusion, love, and war. Based on a freestyle drawing, the resulting geometric structure enchants any viewer who loses themselves in the details long enough. This section of the artwork Worms Warshipping the Devil originally measured 200 x 150 cm.

The Austrian "Bundesheer-Bear" (the army) once made my life difficult because I was a "Deserting-Bear".

I have been in my creative mode for over 37 years. What you see here and online is just a glimpse of my work, which I have pursued with this intensity for decades. I have made a conscious decision to showcase only a few pieces — only the bare minimum is posted online.
For over eight years, I have been chasing the ultimate complexity, creating endless patterns based directly on my freestyle drawings. I grew bored of flat 2D surfaces a long time ago. That's why I moved on to the next level: 3D shading. End-boss visuals that really stand out.
Pushing my art forward is my top priority. That's what makes the difference. That's what makes Banana Bastard!
I am open to collaborating with a reliable and fair partner (agent, gallery owner or entrepreneur) on equal terms in the long term.
You can find a few of my more recent designs directly in my shop.
But: What you see here is only the tip of the iceberg.
